The night before: Tomorrow's chapter arrives on your phone the evening before your child ever sees it. Read the whole thing: Not a summary or a preview — the full chapter, exactly as they'll read it. Change it if you want: If you'd rather they read something else, one tap and we write a different one.

What's Actually in the Stories

We know that letting something write stories for your five-year-old requires trust, so we've made the world of these stories deliberately small. It's your child, their pet, and whatever they come across — a bird, a box, a door in a hillside. That's it.

No other people: There are no other characters in the stories at all. No other children, no grown-ups, no families, no school, no town. Nothing frightening: No danger, no peril, nothing that will keep them up afterwards. No television characters: Nothing borrowed from films or shows. Nothing you didn't expect: No relationships, no faith, no politics, no messages of any kind.

Because there are simply no other people in these stories, whole categories of things you might not want your child reading can't happen in the first place.

Your Child's Bookshelf

Every chapter your child reads stays on their shelf, and they can read any of them again whenever they like. Going back to a story they already love is one of the best things a new reader can do — and after a few weeks, they have a whole shelf of books that are about them.
